Dr. Marc Lamont Hill in The Black Folder

Now playing at The Black Folder - Dr. Marc Lamont Hill giving a powerful lecture at Columbia University in November of 2011.

He talks for about 40 minutes about so many relevant things to those of us seeking to be successful in a society that has several challenges. The people you and I want to free from the matrix are caught up in this society. The society, divides people along several lines. We are divided by Race, Politics, and also Economics ... which often is related to the first two.

This conversation that Marc Lamont Hill has is note worthy as he discusses America's Promise. Are we really a great nation? Was this nation ever great?

Why does America refuse to come to terms with history?

That is the question asked by Marc Lamont Hill in his powerful lecture given at Columbia University. It's true.  As I write this Donald Trump is running for President of the United States, and his motto is "I want to make America great again".

But when were we ever really great?

Great, for All people who are legal citizens of this land?

From some of my notes; We need more DEEP Listening; and also a DEEPER Sense of History.

They say that those who do not know history are doomed to repeat its mistakes. Mistakes are great teachers in life but they can only teach us when we admit that we made them. That's how we gain the experience so that the next time we find ourselves in the same position we make the right decision. So many problems we face today in America stem from not admitting fully to the mistakes of the past; nor even the mistakes that continue to happen in the present.

One of the reasons that The Black Folder exists in the first place is because there needs to be a conversation happening, within the black business arena. Most of us are well aware of the challenges we face that are unique to black business owners. So why wouldn't we seek to work together?

Well, there are so many reasons that explain why we are not.

The more we understand these reasons the less these experiences will frustrate us; as we work to improve our lot in life; and inspire others to do the same - Legally - without falling into the traps that America continues to set for our people. These are realities that we face, but others do not. Unfortunately because of our failure to have a Deeper sense of history; America seeks to censor black thought and black conversation.

Many of us have witnessed the push to silence the Black Lives Matter movement - but just last week, we 'remembered' September 11th; and the phrase "never forget" was mentioned by many. We'd never ask Jews to forget the Holocuast; but blacks are asked to GET over what happened to their ancestors; and to not think about how their grandparents were treated; To not consider the challenges their parents faced.... to ignore unfair treatment that so many of us experience.

So there is a real need to understand how Race, Politics, and American Life intersect with our desire to attain financial freedom.

Enjoy the conversation, as it's one we all need to have.

How does Race and Politics impact this time of Impressive Opportunity; abundant - and yet still So much Inequality?

Is a better world possible?

I certainly think it is.

What can we do, working together, to bring a better world into focus?

Civil Rights in America and Economics

If you have noticed, I am mostly using this GDI Blog to discuss what's happening on the Civil Rights in America and Economics Conversation. That is one of the things I feel is awesome about not being bound to a 'mlm company' - because I am a business man who decided to bring his 'talents' to this industry to help others out. In doing so, I could not help but notice the growing corporate american 'idea' of owernship emerging in the MLM industry.

The MLM Companies think they own the Independent Business owners - but do they?

The MLM companies own the products and services they create; but not the people who choose to market those products and services - Affiliate programs for the most part, have always had this part right. Rarely do I see them terminate anyone for 'marketing/promoting' another affiliate program. For me, I decided to see how using both MLM Companies and Affiliate programs could benefit Black people.  Civil Rights in America never got to the part of dealing with Economics.

That is however, what Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was focusing on after getting Voting Rights laws changed - was the Economic Empowerment of Black people in America.

Now, I'm saying 'we' should be seeking that empowerment while using the MLM industry/business model as a 'vehicle' - because a Dream without a plan is Just a wish.

A Platform created to have this conversation - is part of our One MLM System (To Rule Them All) called, The Black Folder.

Inside The Black Folder are several videos which highlight what has happened to black people in America; combined with videos on what black people MUST do to turn these things around. Group Economics is the answer and yet, there is so much that goes along with it. We have to think more positively about things. We have to change many of the ideas that are going int our heads so that we can change the inner conversations that are happening. We have to learn from the mistakes of the past, so not to repeat those mistakes going into the future.

There is an awesome documentary from PBS called Eyes on the Prize, which we feature there...

Here are 3 powerful Hours from the 14 Hour Long Documentary:

In this documentary so much about our story is covered.

Just as a warning; The following 3 Videos are constantly being pulled off YouTube - the information is too powerful. Please report the video "if" any are not playing when you get there. These 3 parts cover so much ground. One of my favorites is The Promised land. This focuses on Dr. King's movement better known as the Poor People's Campaign. When I first put the black folder together, I found audio of Dr. King discussing his goals with this movement. You'll benefit greatly from hearing his words on this matter.

The Civil Rights in America movement is not done - not without the Economic empowerment and upliftment of black people in America.

You can work with us, to make the completion of this leg of the race a reality.

Economic Empowerment Through MLM

Let's talk about Economic Empowerment through MLM.

I was walking around the campus of my college when I realized why there was such a disparity in my income, my families income, the income of my friends and extended family members; even the income of other black people I met at that university. This is when I began thinking about economics and how everything in our nation is tied to the plantation.

The plantation became the corporation and today we have what are commonly known as corporate slaves.

People no longer are living their lives with a purpose - other than going to work to slave away for someone else.

Meanwhile how this ongoing 'cycle' impacts the black people of America, is played out daily on our streets. What is often lost on us is that these economic conditions that so many black people find themselves in were planned.

But these were not the fully formed thoughts in my head while walking around the campus that day. I just realized that, had my parents owned a business rather than, been employees that we'd have more money. I was beginning to understand the importance of money in this society. I was starting to see the correlation between who I wanted to date, where I wanted to go, what I wanted to do and how much money I had.

I began thinking about how to change that, for future generations of my family.

That search brought me to MLM.

I want to talk to you about economic empowerment of the black community in America through MLM.

I remember when I sat in on the first MLM presentation I ever saw in 1999. I remember thinking 3 words to myself - "THIS IS IT!" ...

I found it.

I found the way that was going to help pull my people out of economic mediocrity.

I knew people, who knew people who knew people. I could envision us building a network - distributing products and services through this network and laughing all the way to the bank! It was legal, it was going to save people money - and it had the potential to increase anyone's income if they chose to work with our team.

Then I Began talking to people.

I came to realize the mental enslavement of black people was deeper than I ever imagined.

Several told me they heard of 'those pyramid things' - and none of them work.

They told me that I should go look for a good job, like they were doing.

Black people have been socially and psychologically conditioned to keep the system in place. Most would rather look for a job and work for someone else, than discuss the possibilities of coming together, and working together to create true wealth, with one another.

The opportunity was also $499 - which presented another barrier for people; a financial barrier.

The combination of financial and mental barriers kept so many of the people I wanted to do business with, from joining my business and working with me. They weren't in the business so they didn't attend the business meetings; They didn't meet the business people I met. They didn't get to have the business experiences I experienced.

This made me understand that the real barriers to economic empowerment are truly education and environment.

Money alone, is not enough to empower black people.

However, if black people are given opportunities but do not get the proper education to take advantage of it, then what good is the opportunity?

That is where most of this conversation about economic empowerment hinges.

There are people who will exclaim that the opportunities are all around; but not enough people will deal directly with a HUGE flaw, that stops people in their tracks. When you live in economically suppressed areas, which most urban areas tend to be, you're around people who are not thinking like business owners.

You're usually going to be around people who think like slaves.

In order to become a FREE Thinker, which really means, to think outside of the 'box' you and others around you are thinking in - it helps to get around others who think outside boxes. The internet gives black people the power to change their environment. They can change the information that is coming into their lives on a daily basis. Instead of tuning into WorldStarHipHop - We invite you to tune into The Black Folder - part of our One MLM System to rule them all.

The black folder is where we are having a real, ongoing conversation about economic empowerment through MLM.

I believe that MLM is the perfect business model for people of color.

It removes the barriers; anyone can get involved - however to be successful with it; the time required to study and learn the craft is a must!

So, MLM brings people into an opportunity; and a good MLM company will provide training; or education - which each person has the chance to take seriously. Naturally if they hang out with people who are not in MLM; they will be discouraged.

They will get people who disempower them because that is what slaves do.

Slaves help keep other slaves on the plantation, serving the Master and keeping the cycle going.

This is why we encourage black people to Hang OUT in the black folder; and also in our Live support Office; where you can spend time around others who think the way you think; and who want the things you want.

You see, economic empowerment is only possible, when the person is mentally empowered.

"The World is the Plantation" - Jason Black

Slavery has 'changed' - and the only freedom for the black race will come from Unity; and economic empowerment.

MLM is the solution we're looking for.

Our System is the answer, to making it work for us!
